Read MoreThe first ever Art Wall Golf Outing was held in September 1999, just seven months after we lost Art and, at that time, we had hopes of making the outing an annual event but really did not know what to expect. In September 2024 we hosted our 26th Annual Art Wall Golf Outing at Whitney Farms Golf Course with over 150 participants and great sponsors. We cannot be more thankful for the support we have been given by friends and businesses over the years and simply cannot do what we do without this vital support.
Having met our main goal of ensuring the Arthur J. Wall Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund would be awarded in perpetuity, and a secondary goal of awarding a scholarship to both a graduating male and female student athlete at Wilton High, the question arose are there any other ways to remember and honor Art through what has become one of the most enjoyed events of the year.
We found our answer in 2012 and developed our Community Outreach Program to support other 501 (c) (3) organizations dedicated to helping the Wilton Community, those who call Wilton home, and the lower Fairfield County area. In addition to academics and athletics, community service is one of the key foundational blocks of the Arthur J. Wall Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Community Outreach Program was a very fitting initiative for us to undertake. Under this program we provide a portion of our annual golf outing proceeds to select organizations and/or programs to help meet their mission and give back to the community which has given so much to us.
Due to the success of our annual golf outing, the following 501 (c)(3) organizations have been awarded a minimum of $5,000:
Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital
Trackside Teen Center
Wilton Police Gift Fund
Wilton Youth Council
Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corp
Wilton Student Financial Aid Committee
Riverbrook Regional (Wilton) YMCA
Wilton Children’s Library & Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County
Connecticut Special Olympics
