On October 25, 2013 Wilton resident Kevin Wall presented a five thousand dollar check as a donation to the Wilton Police Gift Fund, on behalf of the Arthur J. Wall Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The Wilton Police Gift Fund was selected as the 2013 Community Outreach Recipient after the program was started last year (Trackside Teen Center was 2012 recipient) to provide a portion of proceeds from the scholarship funds annual golf outing to other local 501 (c) (3) organizations.  Accepting the donation on behalf of the Wilton Police Gift Fund committee was Chief Michael Lombardo.

The Wilton Police Gift Fund is a tax deductible charitable fund established by the town in 1973 that it is solely funded through private donations and its purpose is to assist Wilton Police Officers in times of hardship for unexpected expenses.  The Arthur J. Wall Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund is named for Mr. Wall, an 18-year-resident of Wilton who was active in many community organizations until his death in 1999.  Dual scholarships are given each spring to a graduating male and female student athlete of Wilton High School who have demonstrated a commitment to academics, athletics and selflessly given back to the community.

Donations to Wilton Police Gift Fund can be sent to Wilton Police Department Attention Gift Fund and donations to the Art Wall Scholarship Fund can be made online at www.ajwallfund.org.
