2024 Recipients - Maclan McGovern & Madeline Phelan

Mac was captain of the WHS football and lacrosse teams while Maddie was a lacrosse and cross country athlete who also participated in basketball and indoor track. Mac and Maddie were both awarded multiple leadership and sportsmanship awards and Maddie was also an FCIAC Exemplary Scholar Athlete recipient. Academically both Maddie (3.91 cumulative GPA) and Mac (3.87 cumulative GPA) were outstanding students who were members of the National Honor Society and consistently placed on High Honor Roll. In addition to their athletic and academic successes, Mac and Maddie were very active in clubs and activities with a focus on helping others. Mac dedicated a majority of his time working in the ER at Norwalk Hospital and running in charity races which raised over $10,000 for 3 charities. Maddie participated raised money for Bronx Lacrosse, dedicated time to sewing fleece items for Operation Gratitude and started a new chapter of Feeding 500 where she served as VP. This Fall Maddie will be attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Mac will be heading to Union College.
