2019 Recipients – Kaitlin Reif & Ryan Schriber

Kaitlin was a four year basketball and soccer player who earned 6 varsity letters and also participated in lacrosse and track.  Ryan was a four year lacrosse and basketball player who earned 7 varsity letters.  Both were Captains of the varsity basketball team senior year.  Both Ryan and Kaitlin excelled in the classroom with consistent membership on honor/high honor rolls and Kaitlin also was a member of Marching and Concert Bands.  Community service was a keystone for both Kaitlin and Ryan during their high school careers – Kaitlin founded Recycle for Education which raised money for student scholarships in Nicaragua and participated in service trips to rebuild homes in Nicaragua.  Ryan’s participation in four YMCA programs since 7th grade focused on helping special needs children and young adults and he also is certified coach with CT Special Olympics.  Ryan also participated in St. Baldrick’s, Safe Rides and Full Court Peace while Kaitlin was active with Safe Rides, Link Crew and Bon Ami.  Kaitlin is currently attending Skidmore College while Ryan is attending University of Michigan.
